“ Since It's too late to get reservations for House of Prime Rib in April & July for my family's birthdays, we've been checking out other steak places. We were able to make reservations for Sundance for lunch at 1:30 that same day. We started with potato skins for lunch since they didn't have baked potatoes for lunch. Not bad. No spinach soufflé for lunch either. We had the medium rare prime rib and roasted garlic mashed potatoes with their vegetables, carrots and broccoli. It was good. It wasn't House of prime rib but it was good. No complaints. The best was that we didn't feel crowded. Next time for lunch, I would try the other lunch items instead of the prime rib. It's not the same unless you get a baked potato with everything & spinach. Years ago, we smelled like smoke coming out and it was dark inside. It was much brighter for lunch and not dark. We'll come by again. ”

“ Sorry. The ratings were not properly recorded due to sticky fingers. The prime rib is always perfectly cooked and cut. We always enjoy the food and the service. The prime rib is comparable to House of Prime Rib. There are plenty of sides and portions. They don't have the Yorkshire pudding or puffy pasties to dip in the gravy. Lots is sports memorabilia displayed and has the English Tavern motif going on. Go in jeans or a suit. It's casual but an experience. Yelp Grading This is my rating system to help you gauge my rating. I feel it is a dis-service to over-inflate ratings. I don't want you to be disappointed with your experience. Ratings are based upon the kind of business and expectations. A business will be rated in consideration of its intended clients. “ Let's start with the ambiance, the interior of the restaurant is dimly lit and sectioned off so it doesn't feel packed and yet every table is full. Plenty of room for a lot of people in your party and yet intimate enough for 'date night'. The service is fast and efficient, very knowledgeable about the menu and able to accommodate subtle changes in the dishes. The food was exquisite, I ordered the 'house cut' prime rib with a side of veggies (carrots and broccoli which were cooked perfectly) and a side of creamed spinach (do it, I'm not a big creamed spinach guy, but this changed my mind!). The prime rib came out just like I ordered 'medium rare' , it was savory and very tender and expertly slow roasted. 10/10 will absolutely come here again! ”

“ This is my #1 steakhouse! I love the food and I always have great service here. It's clean, a little bit on the dim side, but overall a great place to celebrate! It's not fancy but you can dress up or down when dining here. I'm in love with their prime rib. I think this is what won me over. Everything else is just icing on the cake. The parking lot is tiny and other people can't seem to park very well, so that's a downfall. ”

“ Yelp review: Besides the food being the best around...prime rib truly melts in your mouth ...the employees there are such great human beings! Wonderful atmosphere. This was my mom's and my favorite restaurant. This was my first time dining without her. But instead of a sad night, my waitress , Ashely, and the staff went above and beyond for me when I came in on one of their busiest nights to honor my late mother and best friend. The compassion and kindness Ashely and her manager Peter showed me was unbelievable!! They are wonderful human beings and showed me that there are still wonderful people in the world. ”

“ Sundance is like the local version of Lawry's for the Bay Area. They are known for their prime ribs and are located near Stanford. A local fav to go for business meals or special occasions. We ordered the Dungeness crab cakes (pretty good), hibachi ahi sashimi (just ok, not that great), sesame ginger ahi salad (decent), and prime rib (very good). The atmosphere is warm & homey with an old Western flare. I have always enjoyed coming here for a nice lunch. Highly recommend. ”
